Activity Ideas for Your Halloween Party
Halloween parties are great for time for fun activities. Crafts are entertaining for kids and even adults. And the ghosts, bats, or spiders they make are nice for kids to bring home and remember they fun they had at the party.
Here are few examples:
For the preschoolers, try Hand Print Spiders. You'll need: black tempera or poster paint, paper, and wiggly eyes. Paint your child's four fingers and palm black NOT the THUMB... Press the painted hand onto paper pointing fingers out. Paint other hand and press it in the opposite direction overlapping palm prints. Add wiggly eyes and you have a cute, not so creepy spider.
Ghostly Pencils are a cute take-home craft. All you need to make these ghostly creations is a pencil, a couple pieces of tissue paper, and a small section of pipe cleaner. Take one piece of tissue paper and make it into a ball. Tape the ball over the eraser of the pencil and then drape another tissue over the ball to create your ghost. Fasten the tissue you draped over the pencil in place with a piece of pipe cleaner and then add a ghostly face!
An easy fun one for anyone are Pipe Cleaner Spiders. You just need pipe cleaners or chenille sticks (any color is fine, not just black), four-hole buttons, stick-on googly eyes (found in the craft section of many stores), and double-sided tape.
1. Bend a pipe cleaner into a V shape. Push the base of the V up through one of the buttonholes until it protrudes 1/2 inch. Then, bend the 1/2-inch length over the top of the button. Use the same method to thread the three other pipe cleaners through the remaining buttonholes.
2. Next, shape the legs (there should be eight, of course!) by bending the pipe cleaner ends first 1 inch from the button and then again 1/4 inch from the tips. Stick the googly eyes onto the button between the front legs.
3. Go the extra step and buy Halloween spider web (about a $1) for the spiders to sit in.
You can find a ton of other fun activities for your party or classroom like Black Tin Cats (great for holding pencils), Windsock Ghosts, and Foamball Spiders in Easy Halloween Crafts.
